Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how ArtSono collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app.

Information We Collect

ArtSono Studio is designed to minimize data collection.

The app may request access to:

• Microphone

  • Used to capture and analyse audio input on your device for creative and artistic features within the app. Audio recordings are not uploaded to ArtSono servers.

• Photo Library

  • Used only when you choose to save generated artwork or images to your device.

 

ArtSono Studio does not collect or store personal audio recordings, personal photos, or private user content on external servers.

Data Storage

ArtSono Studio primarily operates locally on your device.

Any artwork, generated visuals, or saved media remain under your control unless explicitly shared by you through your device’s own sharing features.

Analytics and Diagnostics

ArtSono Studio does not include third-party analytics services. Apple may provide Visual Solutions Limited with aggregated or diagnostic information through its developer services, subject to Apple's privacy practices. ArtSono Studio does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information through its own analytics systems.

No personally identifiable information is intentionally collected.

Third-Party Services

ArtSono Studio does not include third-party advertising networks.

ArtSono Studio does not sell user data.

Children’s Privacy

ArtSono Studio is not directed toward children under the age of 13.

We take reasonable measures to protect user information and maintain a secure application experience.

Welcome to ArtSono Studio Support.

ArtSono Studio is an expressive digital painting studio for iPad that combines traditional and experimental art tools with a unique approach to creating abstract artwork inspired by sound.

Whether you are painting freely, developing a Sound Sketch, experimenting with wet paint or working with layers, you can find help and guidance below.

Getting Started

Creating a new artwork

Open ArtSono Studio and create a new canvas to begin painting.

You can work entirely by hand using the Studio's drawing and painting tools, or use Sound Sketch to create an initial abstract composition inspired by music, voice or sounds around you.

The resulting sketch can then become the starting point for your own artwork.

 

Using Sound Sketch

Sound Sketch listens to sound through your iPad's microphone and interprets characteristics of the sound as visual marks and forms.

You can experiment with:

• Music

• Instruments

• Singing and voice

• Rhythm and percussion

• Environmental sounds

• Any combination of sounds around you

Every sound is different, and every visual interpretation can be different.

Sound Sketch is designed as a creative starting point rather than a literal representation of sound. Once your sketch has been created, use ArtSono Studio's painting tools to interpret, develop, alter or completely transform it.

Painting & Drawing

ArtSono Studio includes a collection of expressive digital artist tools for creating and developing abstract artwork.

Experiment with brushes, drawing tools, wet pigment, palette knives, rollers, paint pours, drips, splashes, shapes, colour, texture and movement.

Different tools respond in different ways, so experimentation is part of the experience.

Layers

Layers allow different elements of an artwork to be developed independently.

You can select, edit and combine layers as your artwork develops, giving you the freedom to work over a Sound Sketch, introduce additional imagery and build more complex compositions.

​

Working with Photos & Images

Where available within the Studio, you can import imagery from your Photos library and incorporate it into your artwork.

ArtSono Studio will request permission before accessing your Photos library.

You can change photo permissions at any time through your iPad's Settings.

​

Microphone Access

Sound Sketch requires access to your iPad's microphone so that ArtSono Studio can respond to sound.

When first using this feature, iPadOS may ask you to allow microphone access.

If microphone access has previously been declined, you can enable it from:

Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → ArtSono Studio

ArtSono Studio uses microphone input to create its visual response to sound.

Saving Your Artwork

Save your work regularly while developing an artwork.

Finished artwork can also be exported so that you can keep, share or continue using your creation outside ArtSono Studio.

If saving to Photos, ArtSono Studio may request permission to add images to your Photos library.

Troubleshooting

Sound Sketch isn't responding to sound

Check that microphone permission has been granted to ArtSono Studio and that your iPad's microphone is not being used by another application.

Try playing or making a clearly audible sound and start a new Sound Sketch session.

 

I cannot save an artwork to Photos

Check the Photos permissions for ArtSono Studio in your iPad Settings.

​

The app is not behaving as expected

Close and reopen ArtSono Studio. If the problem continues, restarting your iPad can resolve temporary iPadOS issues.

We also recommend using the latest available version of ArtSono Studio and a compatible version of iPadOS.
